name, and to engage in the mission of Christ in our community and around the world." |

It is a blessing to be part of a church that has been a valuable gem of Cowee Valley for over 180 years. However, if people want to see a picture of our beautiful church, they must see more than the building!
1 Peter 2:4-5 says: As you come to him, the living Stone-rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to Him-you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Our sanctuary is beautiful and historic (probably one of the most
photographed church buildings in Macon County). However, there is more to our church than the building because a church that serves Jesus Christ is made up of "living stones" - people - like those you will meet at Cowee Baptist.
It is important that we note that these stones are living stones. Living
implies life and activity. Being part of our church, Cowee, is not just
about sitting on a pew...a rock can sit on a pew, but a living stone
will yearn to do more. Not just are we living stones - we are a "holy
priesthood" of believers. We are qualified and called by God to minister
to each other and to continue breathing life into a rock hard world at
all times.
Feel free to explore this website to learn more about the exciting
things going on at Cowee Baptist or better yet, come visit us in person. You will find that we are a church that seeks to minister to people of all ages, a group whose heart is to be the local expression of Christ, a body of believers committed to exhibiting God's love in action. |
